“TOKYO (Nikkei)—Without globalization, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp. (9432) will have no future, President Satoshi Miura said Monday in his speech at the Nikkei Global Management Forum in Tokyo.

Miura indicated that the NTT group will work to bolster its cellular phone and system integration businesses around the globe by strengthening its control over South Africa’s Dimension Data Holdings Plc and other foreign companies the group has acquired.

Thanks to capital participation and acquisitions of businesses in India, South Africa and elsewhere, NTT’s “overseas sales will reach 4 billion dollars in fiscal 2010,” Miura said.

“In fiscal 2011, overseas sales will exceed 8 billion dollars,” he added.

The 12th Nikkei Global Management Forum is sponsored by Nikkei Inc. and the International Institute for Management Development, a Swiss business school that is also known as IMD. The annual two-day event at Imperial Hotel Tokyo will end Tuesday.
